- Three cows escape from trailer, disrupt traffic on Interstate 90
- Traffic slowed in both directions as authorities and bystanders tried to contain them
New York’s Interstate 90 descended into chaos when three cows broke free from a livestock trailer and wandered onto the highway.
According to New York State Police, the trailer had been parked on the shoulder due to a mechanical issue when the cows managed to escape.
The animals moved back and forth between the roadway and the median, dodging police, their owners, and passersby who tried to help, causing major slowdowns in both directions.
Authorities reported that two of the cows were quickly rounded up, while the third evaded capture briefly before being secured by its owners.
The cows were safely removed, though the New York State Thruway Authority warned of ongoing traffic delays following the incident.
