Yemen witnessed a tragic disaster on Tuesday, as official sources reported the death of at least 11 Yemenis and injuries to others following a horrific traffic accident on a road in Al-Mahfad district, Abyan Governorate.

Sources explained that the accident occurred due to a severe collision between a transport truck and a bus in the Al-Haraj area near the village of Al-Hubaj, resulting in the complete burning of the bus and the death of all passengers on board due to the fire.

Financial aid for victims’ families

In an urgent move, the President of the Yemeni Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, ordered the disbursement of financial assistance to the families of the victims and the injured, to support them in this sudden disaster.

Yemeni authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident to determine the causes of the tragic collision and to prevent such incidents in the future.
