In recent hours, Egyptian actor Ahmed Maher has faced a new controversy after a video circulated on social media showing him insulting the late director Galal Tawfiq and his family, including actors Yasser Galal and Ramy Galal.

The video shows Ahmed Maher responding to a question about one of the actors, stating that he has known him since childhood, then adding phrases considered verbally offensive, which sparked strong reactions among social media users.

Following the video, the legal representative of the actors, Ashraf Abdelaziz, announced taking legal measures against Ahmed Maher, confirming the follow-up of the Actors’ Syndicate investigation headed by Dr. Ashraf Zaki, to take necessary actions regarding Maher’s offensive remarks and to hold accountable anyone who filmed, shared, or re-shared the video.

Official Apology The Actors’ Syndicate had previously referred the incident for urgent investigation and issued an official apology to the family of the late director Galal Tawfiq, as well as to actors Yasser Galal and Ramy Galal, for the actions of Ahmed Maher.

The syndicate emphasized in an official statement that protecting the reputation of actors and their families is a professional and ethical duty, and any similar violations will be dealt with according to the law and the syndicate’s internal regulations.
