A young man went through a severe psychological state and tried to end his life. The young man lost consciousness as a result of inhaling the fumes.

In critical moments, Iraqi security forces rescued a man in his twenties from a tragic outcome after he went through a difficult psychological state following the refusal of a girl’s family to allow him to marry her.

The incident took place in the city of Mosul, the center of Nineveh Governorate, where the young man poured a flam*mable substance on his body in an attempt to end his life, before security forces intervened at the last moments and prevented the disaster.

A security source said that police received a report about a young man carrying a fuel container and appearing to be in an unstable psychological condition, prompting an immediate response and rapid handling of the situation.

The source explained that the young man lost consciousness due to inhaling the fumes, which allowed police officers to take control of the situation and rescue him in time.

He added that preliminary information indicates the young man had been suffering from a poor psychological state after the girl’s family rejected his request to marry her and prevented him from proposing, which directly affected his condition in the hours leading up to the incident.

The source confirmed that the necessary legal procedures were taken and that the young man was transferred to the relevant authorities to receive the required care and support.
