The government calls for the survey to be circulated to all staff The study aims to analyze multiple scenarios

The government has launched a new step to enhance the work environment in the public sector, as the Civil Service and Administrative Reform Commission distributed on Wednesday an extensive survey aimed at gathering public sector employees’ opinions on the organization of the workweek and the number of official working days, amid increasing demands to add a third day of leave.

Citizens’ opinions varied on the idea of increasing the number of days off, between supporters and opponents, according to "Roya TV".

This initiative comes in implementation of the directives of Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, aiming to enhance employees’ participation in decision-making and improve the work environment, relying on a scientific methodology that takes employees’ opinions into account before any regulatory adjustments.

The study aims to analyze multiple scenarios, including adopting a four-day workweek or the "three-day weekend," with the possibility of increasing daily working hours in exchange for fewer weekly working days, emphasizing that this stage is purely consultative and does not imply a final decision yet.

To ensure inclusivity, the commission has called on all ministries and official departments in the center and governorates to circulate the survey to all staff through the online link or QR Code.

The commission confirmed that the results of this study will undergo thorough analysis, considering best practices and the productivity and economic dimensions, with the aim of raising performance efficiency and ensuring the continued delivery of quality services to citizens.
