  • Authorities warn of the dangers of approaching cliffs

The diving unit of the Naval Division of the Civil Defense Forces in Mostaganem Province, northwestern Algeria, rescued a boy who nearly drowned after falling from rocky cliffs overlooking the sea.

Algeria’s Civil Defense responded on its official Facebook page to an emergency call about a boy, around 15 years old, who fell into the sea while trying to take photos in the “cliffs” area, dispatching the diving team immediately to save him.

Rescuers managed to pull him out safely and provided first aid on the spot before transferring him to the emergency department of a hospital to complete the necessary treatment.

The Civil Defense also shared a video capturing the divers’ intervention, which drew wide attention on social media, alongside warnings about the risks of approaching cliff edges to take photos.
