Parents were outside the house when the incident occurred Investigations confirmed that the tragic incident was caused by negligence.
The province of Najaf, Iraq, was shocked by the death of two children after a devastating fire broke out inside their home while they were playing with candles, at a time when their parents were not at home.
The children were playing with candles when one fell on the bed, instantly igniting the fire, which quickly spread and consumed the house, ending the lives of the two children who were alone, leaving the neighborhood in deep shock.
Iraqi media reported that the house had been locked by the father at the time of the fire, while their mother was absent, preventing any quick intervention to save the children.
Neighbors and residents attempted to enter the house and rescue the children, but they could not, so civil defense teams intervened to extinguish the fire. Unfortunately, the children had already passed away.
"Negligence caused the tragedy" The official confirmed that the tragic incident was caused by negligence, stressing the importance of closely monitoring children and not leaving any sources of fire or dangerous tools within their reach, to prevent similar disasters.
This incident comes just a few days after the death of twins in Kurdistan, Iraq, who suffocated from inhaling gas from a lit heater while sleeping at night, highlighting the fragility of children’s safety in homes without proper supervision.
