The famous chef Gordon Ramsay stated that David and Victoria Beckham are "good parents" and that time will help mend their relationship with their son Brooklyn following the recent public family disagreement.
Ramsay, a longtime friend of the family, expressed his respect for Brooklyn’s ability to "pave his own way" in an interview.
In January, following months of speculation about a family feud, Brooklyn posted several messages on Instagram saying he did not want to "reconcile" with his family and made multiple claims about his parents, many related to his marriage to Nicola Peltz, the American actress and daughter of a billionaire businessman.
The family has not yet issued an official response.
Among Brooklyn’s most notable claims was that Lady Beckham "hijacked" the first dance at his wedding, even though it had been planned "weeks in advance" to a romantic song. He said: "She danced inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more embarrassed or humiliated in my life."
However, a report from a British magazine present at the wedding stated that Brooklyn invited his mother to dance on stage, joined by David and their 10-year-old daughter Harper.
Ramsay, who attended the wedding, insisted that nothing "inappropriate" or "controversial" happened, saying: "The relationship between David and Brooklyn is very deep, and I know how much David loves Brooklyn."
He added: "I believe it’s only a matter of time before Brooklyn reflects on himself. It’s easy to get carried away in the moment, but it will settle in the end."
When asked if he had spoken to Brooklyn, Ramsay said they had exchanged messages "a little" and that he "loves him," noting that Brooklyn "is determined to stand on his own," but urged him to remember that "one day you won’t have your mum and dad."
For his part, David Beckham has not directly addressed the dispute, but in January he commented generally on social media, stating that children "have the right to make mistakes."
