A day before the match, Drake posted a photo of his bet on Instagram with the caption, "Bet against me if you dare," revealing that a Patriots win would have doubled his money to about $2.95 million.

Fans reacted with jokes about the so-called "Drake curse," noting that teams he supports often lose.

Drake has faced a string of losses in previous bets, including $60,000 on the 2016 NBA Finals, $1 million backing the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2025, and a similar loss in the 2025 Super Bowl betting on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Despite these setbacks, Drake denied the existence of any "curse," pointing to his favorite team, the Toronto Raptors, winning the 2019 NBA championship, saying, "The Drake curse is funny to me; the Raptors won the championship, so no one can talk to me about the Drake curse."
