Police launched an investigation after a student opened fire on his classmate at Mai Bhago Law College in Punjab, India, killing her, local authorities reported.

CCTV footage captured the entire incident inside the classroom.

According to local media, the shooter, Raj from Mallian village, fired at Sandeep Kaur, a student from Naushehra Pannuan, before turning the gun on himself and sustaining serious injuries.

A senior official confirmed Kaur’s death at the scene, while Raj is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

The footage shows Raj entering the classroom with a backpack, briefly speaking with Kaur and another female student, before the three moved to the back of the room.

Moments later, Raj took a gun out of his bag and shot Kaur at close range.

Videos show students panicking and fleeing the classroom immediately after the shots, which occurred just before lessons were due to begin.

Police confirmed that Kaur’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and investigators are reviewing CCTV recordings as part of the ongoing inquiry.
