Rescue teams pull three people from the rubble “Unknown” number trapped under the debris

A residential building consisting of five floors in the city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon collapsed, trapping a number of residents under the debris, according to security sources in the country.

The National News Agency reported that rescue teams, in cooperation with residents, managed to pull three people alive from the rubble so far, while an “unknown” number remain trapped under the debris.

Social media was flooded with reactions to the tragic incident, expressing grief and sorrow, praying for the victims’ mercy and forgiveness, and calling for measures to prevent such repeated accidents, which have become increasingly frequent.

Repetition of tragic incidents

This incident comes after Tripoli witnessed a horrifying disaster last month, when two buildings collapsed – one five-story and the other three-story – resulting in casualties and significant damage.

Authorities are working to thoroughly comb the site and search for any potential survivors, while residents are urged to stay away from the area until the situation stabilizes.
