- Investigation Continues
The FBI announced a $50,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie, mother of American journalist Savannah Guthrie, or the arrest of anyone involved in her disappearance.
Nancy, 84, was last seen on Saturday, January 31. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department in Arizona launched an urgent search for her on Sunday, February 1.
During a press conference on Thursday, February 5, FBI Agent Heath Janke confirmed the reward for tips that could help find Nancy or bring her abductors to justice.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated authorities believe Nancy is still alive and expressed, “We want her home.” He emphasized that no suspects have been identified yet and all leads are being carefully examined.
Blood found on the steps of Nancy’s Catalina Foothills, Tucson, home was confirmed by DNA testing to belong to her.
Nanos added that Savannah and her family have fully cooperated with the investigation.
Amid the ongoing search, Savannah Guthrie withdrew from her planned coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, where she was scheduled to co-host the February 6 opening ceremony alongside Terry Gannon.
