Al-Faisaly Basketball clinches the “Two Giants Derby”

Jordanian basketball courts witnessed a thrilling and high-octane night, marked by decisive moments as the 14th round of the first stage of the 2025 Premier Basketball League came to a close.

Between the capital Amman and the “Bride of the North” Irbid, Al-Faisaly and Al-Jubeiha shared the spotlight after securing valuable victories that strengthened their positions in the league standings.

Al-Jubeiha strike hard at Al-Hassan Hall

Al-Jubeiha were no less convincing, earning a deserved and emphatic win over Al-Ashrafieh by 77–61 in the match held on Friday at Al-Hassan Hall in Irbid.

From the outset, Al-Jubeiha imposed their tactical approach, capitalizing on the opponent’s defensive gaps to take full control of the game and finish the contest in their favour with authority, adding two important points to their tally in the championship race.

Al-Faisaly settle the basketball “Clasico” and seize the top spot

In a top-of-the-table clash that kept fans on edge until the final seconds, Al-Faisaly once again confirmed their superiority after winning the derby against their traditional rivals Al-Wehdat by 93–90.

The match, hosted at Prince Hamzah Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City on Thursday evening, was far from an ordinary game; it was a true display of intensity and rivalry between the two giants of Jordanian sport.

The contest began with strong focus from the “Blue Eagle,” who finished the first quarter ahead by a single point (22–21), before extending their advantage at halftime to (49–45).

Despite a strong comeback by the “Green Giant” in the third quarter, during which they moved ahead (70–67), Al-Faisaly’s experience proved decisive in the closing moments.

Al-Faisaly owe this victory to their standout import, Brian Holmaz, who crowned himself the star of the game after scoring 33 points, leading his team to the top of the standings with 27 points, while Al-Wehdat remained in third place with 21 points.
