Decision to Ban the Broadcast of "Rouh OFF" Dominates the Scene in Egypt Ashraf Zaki Conditions the Show’s Release on Full Compliance with Professional Regulations

Ashraf Zaki, head of Egypt’s Acting Professions Syndicate, revealed the only way to resolve the crisis surrounding the series "Rouh OFF," starring Monther Rayahneh and Randa El-Behairy, after its filming was suspended in recent days, in a crisis that has dominated the Egyptian artistic scene.

In media statements, Zaki explained that the syndicate has no objection to the continuation of the production or its creators, provided there is full compliance with the regulations governing the acting profession, foremost among them the removal of the blogger "Om Jasser" from the cast.

He added that her actual exclusion from the acting team would allow the production crew to immediately resume filming from the same day, stressing that the crisis would be closed as soon as this condition is fulfilled.

Suspension of "Rouh OFF"

Earlier, the Acting Professions Syndicate announced the final suspension of the series "Rouh OFF" and banned it from being broadcast during the Ramadan 2026 season, due to its clear violation of the instructions and decisions that prohibit the participation of non-members of the syndicate — including content creators and bloggers — in drama productions without official permits.

In an official statement, the syndicate confirmed that the decision came after more than one notice and warning had been issued to the producer, urging compliance with the syndicate’s bylaws and the laws regulating artistic work, but those warnings were ignored and the violations continued.

It also noted that the latest violation was the appearance of the producer in a circulating video clip with the blogger "Om Jasser" while contracting with her to participate in one of the artistic works, in direct violation of the syndicate’s decisions that prohibit engaging non-registered individuals without obtaining the required legal permits.
