Jordanian karate continues to write new chapters of glory, going beyond winning medals on the mat to reaching the very top of the international refereeing hierarchy.

In a new achievement that underscores the leadership of national expertise, three Jordanian referees have earned advanced international rankings according to the latest updates from the World Karate Federation (WKF), strengthening the status of the “Jordanian whistle” as one of the most trusted and efficient worldwide.

Numbers speak… top positions among the elite

According to the new world rankings, international referee Ibrahim Al-Daqs secured a place among the world’s top referees, ranking 22nd globally — a position that reflects his extensive experience in officiating major bouts.

Referee Abdul Hafeez Alia was not far behind, finishing 31st worldwide and confirming his continued technical development.

Meanwhile, referee Faiq Al-Jaafari recorded a solid presence at 126th place, placing the Jordanian trio among the elite officials entrusted with managing major World Karate Federation Premier League events and world championships.

The result of commitment and institutional support

The Jordan Karate Federation stressed that this rise in the rankings did not come by chance, but is the result of the referees’ commitment and ongoing efforts to keep pace with continuous amendments to the rules, as well as their active participation in advanced international courses.

The federation added that having Jordanian referees at these levels gives Jordanian players greater confidence, as national officiating cadres have become an international reference for understanding the finer details of the sport.

This refereeing achievement complements the outstanding successes of the national teams, with Jordanian stars holding very high global rankings, such as Abdelrahman Al-Musatfa and Mohammed Al-Jaafari.
