American singer Taylor Swift and her fiancé, NFL player Travis Kelce, were absent from the 2026 Grammy Awards held Sunday evening, with Swift not nominated for any award this year.

Swift did not win any awards at the ceremony, marking the first time since 2017 that she was not nominated in any category.

This is due to the timing of her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, released in October 2025—less than two months before the eligibility window closed for the 2026 Grammys.

The “Album of the Year” category saw fierce competition among top names, including Bad Bunny, Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, and Tyler, the Creator, before the award ultimately went to Bad Bunny.

Swift’s new album is expected to compete in the 2027 edition of the awards.

While stars flocked to the red carpet, Swift chose to step back from the spotlight, citing fatigue after completing her record-breaking 149-show world tour.

Her latest album also achieved remarkable success, recording Spotify’s biggest debut ever.

The couple’s absence also comes as they focus on preparations for their highly anticipated wedding, which has drawn extensive media attention in the United States.
