A 24-year-old man caused a flight to Amsterdam to be delayed for over two hours at Manises Airport in Valencia, Spain, after climbing onto the airplane’s roof.

Sources reported that the man gained unauthorized access to the airport grounds before scaling the plane while carrying a backpack.

Passenger-recorded video shows him running along the roof, gesturing and shouting.

The tense situation lasted several minutes until Civil Security teams arrived and safely removed him from the top of the aircraft.

The man was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment due to an “altered mental state,” and a report was filed against him for violating aviation safety laws.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic and alarming; in one video, a passenger can be heard saying he did not want to “see his head get hurt,” while others expressed fears that he might be armed.

Authorities confirmed that the incident posed no physical threat to staff or passengers, that the man was unarmed, and no injuries occurred.
