The family of the Syrian artist Huda Shaarawi denied the existence of any third party in the crime confirming that the maid carried out the crime alone without any assistant or mastermind
The family explained that investigations revealed a message written by the maid in her own handwriting before committing the crime, indicating pre-meditated intent and determination to commit the crime, despite her good treatment by the family.
The family confirmed that the maid did not suffer from any psychological or mental disorders and was treated as one of the family members, pointing out that all medical examinations were conducted on her before the incident to ensure her health condition.
According to the family’s statements, the Ugandan maid used a "mortar" to strike Huda Shaarawi’s head before smashing it, and later attempted to set the house on fire, indicating pre-planning of the crime.
Ghassan Al-Hariri denied all reports about deporting the maid to Uganda for investigation, confirming that her trial will be conducted inside Syria, stressing the family’s full confidence in the Syrian judiciary and that justice will take its course to reclaim the rights of the late artist.
Huda Shaarawi’s grandson, Ahmed Al-Hariri, expressed his gratitude to the artists, audience, and fans who attended the funeral and offered condolences, considering that this solidarity reflects Shaarawi’s status, fame, and the love of her audience for her.
