• Fire crews rush to control nursery blaze

A fire broke out at a nursery in London on Saturday evening, prompting dozens of firefighters to rush to the scene to contain the flames.

Video footage showed thick flames and black smoke billowing from the roof of “Rushey Green” Nursery in Catford, Lewisham.

The London Fire Brigade said it dispatched eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters to the site after receiving the first report at 6:40 p.m.

The fire was brought under control after roughly three hours.

Authorities advised residents to keep windows and doors closed, while some roads were also shut, with the public urged to avoid the area.

No injuries were reported, and officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
