The son threw his father’s body into a water drain for two months to conceal the crime Investigations indicated that the motive for the crime was greed for his father’s money

The Dakahlia Governorate in northern Egypt witnessed a tragic incident that shocked public opinion, after a young man ended the life of his elderly father and threw his body into a water drain, hiding the crime for a full two months, in an incident described by local communities as "filial disobedience."

Security investigations revealed that the accused, the only son among three sisters, had repeatedly demanded large sums of money from his father, who refused to comply. According to the investigations, this refusal drove the son to eliminate his father in pursuit of his money and property.

A severe dispute Investigations confirmed that the crime took place on a family-owned agricultural land, where a severe dispute erupted between father and son, escalating into a violent assault in which the son used a wooden piece to strike his father’s head, causing his immediate death. The accused then threw the body into a water drain in an attempt to hide the crime’s traces.

The son attempted to deceive his family, claiming he had filed a missing person report for his father. However, the victim’s sister doubted the story and filed an official police report, which later revealed the son’s false claims.

When summoned and confronted with evidence, the accused admitted to the full details of the crime, stating that he had sold a number of his father’s livestock and deposited the proceeds into his bank account to hide them from his sisters.

Security authorities managed to locate the body, and all necessary legal procedures were taken. The public prosecutor referred the accused to pre-trial detention pending further investigations.
