Maguy Bou Ghosn: Working in Art Is Hard and Beautiful Maguy Bou Ghosn: My relationships with my colleagues are very good

Lebanese actress Maguy Bou Ghosn revealed her views on the artistic scene in Lebanon, affirming that the artistic arena has witnessed significant development over the past ten years, particularly in Arab drama, despite the difficulties that still face the Lebanese drama industry.

In televised statements, Bou Ghosn explained that Lebanese drama has progressed in both quality and style, but emphasized that the absence of an integrated industry remains a major obstacle, noting that producing one or two series per year cannot create a true industry, compared to other countries with large-scale production.

She added that working in the art field is both hard and beautiful at the same time, emphasizing that passion and enjoyment are the main reasons to continue, despite the significant physical and mental exhaustion, alongside the strict commitments that may force an artist to work under difficult conditions.

Bou Ghosn also addressed the challenges some artistic works faced due to political and security circumstances, revealing that one of her productions was filmed under extremely dangerous conditions, with bombings and aerial threats, pointing out that the team relied on God and continued filming until completion, considering this as proof of the strength and resilience of the people.

Regarding rumors and competition in the artistic scene, Bou Ghosn confirmed that success and bearing great responsibilities may open the door to rumors, pointing out that competition sometimes creates untrue stories, but she always avoids conflicts and does not insult anyone. She denied any current disputes with her colleagues, confirming that her relationships with all her fellow artists are very good.

"I Was a Rebellious Child" Maguy Bou Ghosn revealed an impactful childhood incident that led to her being expelled from school, explaining that she was a rebellious child, but her rebellion was always against injustice, not mischief.

She clarified that her strong memory helped her excel academically despite reading difficulties, as she relied entirely on memorization until one teacher discovered her method and helped her learn to read using color-coded letters.

She emphasized that this experience was a significant turning point in her life, later helping her manage her life affairs, noting her ability to memorize any book after reading it just once. She also shared a similar experience with one of her children, explaining that he was smart but uninterested in traditional test questions, preferring to draw rather than write, and she handles such situations wisely and simply.
