- Deer Crashes into Ridge Bank, Causes Major Chaos
- Police Calm Deer and Safely Return It to the Wild
Police in Suffolk County, New York, responded to a bank alarm in Ridge, only to discover that the “culprit” was not a burglar, but a deer trapped inside after smashing through a large glass window.
Video footage released by the police showed the panicked animal charging at teller barriers and jumping onto desks, causing widespread chaos including broken glass, overturned furniture, scattered papers, and blood on the walls.
Authorities said the deer tried to escape on its own, inflicting significant interior damage, before officers were able to calm it, secure it with ropes, and guide it safely outside.
The Suffolk County Police Department praised Seventh Precinct officers Connor Kehoe, Jason Famoso, Shane Matedero, Michael Pitts, and Salvatore Zafonte for their quick response and handling of the situation without injuries.
Police confirmed that no officers or civilians were harmed, and that the deer was safely returned to the wild.
