Beauty expert Mai Kamal, Ahmed Maki’s ex-wife, spoke for the first time about the reason for their split, stressing that his manager and some of his circle were the main cause of the divorce.

Kamal noted in a post on her personal Instagram account that separation does not necessarily involve conflicts or enmity, affirming that good ultimately prevails.

She explained, “The main reason for my separation from Ahmed Maki was his manager and the group around him; I stayed silent for years because of his mother and concern for him, but after her passing, I felt completely drained.”

She clarified that her feelings toward Maki have not changed, emphasizing that she holds no hatred and will not abandon him in tough times, saying: “This does not mean I hate him or will leave him no matter what happens.”

She added that she always tried to excuse her ex, describing him as loyal and respectful of their relationship with his manager despite the harm it caused her.

She concluded by highlighting the strength of her bond with Ahmed Maki despite the separation, and her ongoing prayers for him, commenting: “What is between us is priceless, and Ahmed Maki is not an ordinary person to me; I will always pray for him.”

The beauty expert’s statements coincided with the crisis Ahmed Maki is facing after filing an official complaint against his manager, accusing her of misappropriating 66 million EGP.

Maki stated in his complaint that his manager exploited a power of attorney granting her control over his financial affairs and refused to provide account statements related to his work.
