• OpenAI Prepares to Launch Its First Physical Device This Year

OpenAI, the developer behind the ChatGPT application, announced its intention to launch its first physical device later this year, aiming for an initial readiness by at least late 2026.

This move comes after OpenAI acquired the former Apple designer, Jony Ive, opening the door for a device that combines software and hardware, although the company has not disclosed many details about the device’s nature or design.

According to a report by Axios, the device is still in the development phase, with the possibility of a reveal in the last quarter of the year, while the company has not set a precise timeline, which could mean the official launch may be delayed for a longer period.

The exact nature of the device itself remains unknown, and it could resemble the AI pin project previously launched by Humane or another smart device, such as smart glasses.

OpenAI’s announcement about the new device comes at a time when the company has begun testing advertisements within its ChatGPT AI model, in a move aimed at boosting revenue amid reports of potential company losses, while competitor companies appear to be in a comfortable position with their own AI projects.
