  • British Man Found Dead in Thailand Hotel Days After Disappearance
  • Family Raises Funds to Cover Repatriation and Funeral Costs

The family of a 21-year-old British man announced that his body was discovered in a hotel in the coastal city of Pattaya, Thailand, leaving them shocked and devastated.

According to the family, Joshua Kershaw, from Grimsby, had been missing since January 12 and failed to board his flight back to the UK on January 19.

In an official statement, the family confirmed the discovery of his body, adding: "This is not the outcome we were praying for, and our family is completely devastated by this loss."

A spokesperson for the UK Foreign Office said: "We are supporting the family of the British man who died in Thailand and are in contact with local authorities to provide assistance."

After the discovery, the family set up a fundraising page that successfully raised over £10,000 (approximately $12,200), according to their statement.

They explained: "All funds will now be used to bring Joshua home and cover funeral expenses so he can be buried near his family and loved ones. We ask everyone to continue keeping our family in their thoughts as we grieve and try to come to terms with this heartbreaking news."

The family added that the public’s support and kindness "have meant more to us than we can ever express in words."
