In a quickly circulated audio clip, Ayham expressed his deep gratitude to the Syrian security forces and the Ministry of Interior for their efforts in bringing his father safely back to Damascus. He mentioned that a security detective had called him to confirm that his father was on his way from Idlib, before his safe arrival at the Ministry of Interior’s headquarters. Ayham expressed immense relief and happiness at regaining one of the pillars of his family.

The audio clip also included a lighthearted moment, as Ayham reassured everyone about his father’s health, stating that he is in “excellent condition,” and jokingly added: “One benefit of the kidnapping is losing the belly fat,” referring to the weight his father lost during the abduction period.
