A famous motorcyclist in Turkey died in a tragic accident after colliding with a car while riding without the helmet he had given his girlfriend to protect her from harm.

Kadir Akbulut was riding his motorcycle with his girlfriend, Melike, on a street in Antalya when a car suddenly cut into their path, causing the collision.

A video of the accident showed Akbulut, Melike, and two others in the car injured; all four were taken to the hospital, but Akbulut later succumbed to his severe injuries.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the rider had given his helmet to his girlfriend for her protection during the ride and rode without it for the first time.

Condolences and heartfelt comments poured in on social media, expressing admiration for his sacrifice that saved his girlfriend’s life, with many describing the moment as both moving and tragic.

Akbulut was widely popular on Instagram, followed by more than half a million people, where he shared videos documenting his stunt motorcycle adventures.
