  • First Hotel on the Moon Opens for Pre-Booking with High Deposit
  • Project Includes Lunar Base and Infrastructure for Human Settlement

A startup named GRU Space, short for "Galactic Resource Utilization," announced the opening of its website for pre-bookings of the first-ever hotel on the Moon, requiring an initial deposit ranging from $250,000 to $1 million.

According to media reports, the company plans to begin hosting guests in the early 2030s, with the hotel being the first of its kind on the lunar surface.

The company clarified that this initiative is part of a larger project aimed at establishing a lunar base and infrastructure to support human settlement in the future.

Founder Skyler Chan stated that the goal is to propel humanity toward interplanetary living, emphasizing that the project goes beyond hotels to include human colonies and essential infrastructure for their sustainability.

The company’s team, consisting of only two employees, plans to send an inflatable structure to the Moon by 2029, followed by a larger habitation unit representing the hotel in 2031, along with foundations made from lunar soil for future buildings.

The first lunar hotel is expected to host four guests simultaneously by 2032, with the building designed to mimic luxurious architecture inspired by the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.

Chan commented: "SpaceX is working on getting us there, but there must be a destination worthy of staying at."
