Turkish security forces launched a major operation against prohibited substances The investigation includes charges related to possession of prohibited substances for personal use

Turkish gendarmerie and police raided several famous sites in Istanbul last night, as part of a wide security operation targeting celebrities and entertainment venues, resulting in the arrest of seven people, including the famous Turkish actor Can Yaman.

According to press reports, around 100 security personnel participated in raiding a location in the Maslak district, where the place was fully cordoned off, all entrances and exits were secured, and a thorough search was conducted as part of an extensive investigation into allegations of use and facilitation of prohibited substances in entertainment venues frequented by celebrities.

At the same time, the gendarmerie carried out a search at a well-known hotel in the Besiktas district, known for being frequented by celebrities. About 200 gendarmerie personnel participated, along with six police dogs trained to detect prohibited substances, and the search lasted approximately three hours, covering all hotel rooms and facilities.

Turkish media, including Sabah newspaper, reported that the famous Turkish actor Can Yaman was arrested, along with Selin Gorguzel, who recently returned to Turkey after participating in the "Survivor" program. The list of detainees also included other names, among them Aisha Saglam and Sirin Alber, bringing the total number of those arrested in the first phase of the investigation to seven.

Serious charges and ongoing investigations The Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the investigation includes charges related to possession of prohibited substances for personal use, facilitating their distribution or use in public places, as well as investigating cases related to incitement to illegal practices or facilitating them in some locations.

The prosecutor’s office indicated that the investigation is part of a broader campaign aimed at combating networks suspected of exploiting entertainment venues and famous hotels. The arrest of Can Yaman, one of the most prominent and popular stars of Turkish drama, caused widespread shock among his fans, awaiting official announcements that will determine the fate of the case and its impact on the artistic scene.
