Aseel Hameem: "Organizational circumstances prevented the concert from taking plac Ali Hameem: "The concert aims to support children suffering from cancer

Iraqi artist Aseel Hameem announced the cancellation of her upcoming concert in Basra Governorate, southern Iraq, noting that the decision came due to the organizer's breach of contract terms and poor management, which prevented the event from being held properly.

In a message on her Instagram account, Aseel Hameem wrote: "The organizer's failure to comply with all contract terms, along with poor management, was beyond my control," expressing her apologies to her audience and confirming her hope to meet them soon under better conditions and organization that befits their love.

The artist added in an Instagram "Story" that she had insisted until the last moments on holding the concert out of love for her Basra audience, but the organizational circumstances prevented this, renewing her apology to everyone who had been waiting for the event.

"Supporting children suffering from cancer"

The cancellation comes days after the controversy that accompanied the announcement of the event, as her brother and manager Ali Hameem had previously denied any news of the cancellation, confirming that the concert would take place on schedule and that what is being published on social media is inaccurate, noting that preparations were proceeding normally with the support of official authorities in the governorate.

Ali Hameem explained that besides entertainment, the concert aimed to support children suffering from cancer, emphasizing that the event was purely humanitarian and not commercial.

Meanwhile, the concert faced criticism from religious figures in Iraq, most notably Raad Al-Bahli, representative of the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Basra, who called for stopping the concert, considering that holding musical events conflicts with the religious and social values of the governorate and does not align with its service and living priorities.

Al-Bahli said in a statement issued two days before the cancellation announcement: "Allowing such events represents a value provocation and affects the moral system, especially among youth," calling on the government and parliament to intervene to prevent the concert, emphasizing that "respecting public morals is an organization of freedoms, not a restriction on them."
