British police found a man in his 50s dead after a tree fell on a caravan during Storm Goretti, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.
Emergency services were called at 07:35 GMT on Thursday to the Mawgan area of Helston, Cornwall, following the tree fall.
Work was carried out at the scene on Friday to safely remove the tree and continue investigations.
Police confirmed: "Tragically, a man in his 50s was found deceased inside the caravan," noting that his relatives have been informed and are being supported.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
The UK Met Office issued a rare red warning for wind on Thursday from 16:00 to 23:00, causing widespread damage and disruption across the county.
Red warnings indicate that exposed areas are most at risk from falling debris and life-threatening hazards.
The strong winds left thousands of homes without power in parts of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, with gusts reaching approximately 160 km/h.
Cornwall Council described the storm as "one of the most severe" in the county's living memory, with crews working around the clock to clear fallen trees and carry out emergency repairs.
