A 44-year-old mother has been charged with murder following a house fire at her residence in Gateshead Close, Rusholme, Manchester, which claimed the life of her four-year-old daughter, Lesma-Rose Wibier.
The child died in hospital after being rescued from the fire on 2 March last year.
Greater Manchester Police reported that the child’s mother, Carin Wibier, has been held under the Mental Health Act and faces charges of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
Wibier is scheduled to appear before Manchester Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday.
The child’s family expressed their grief after her death, saying: “Lesma-Rose was the star of the family. Everyone who knew her knew she was the most beautiful girl inside and out. She always had a smile on her face and could bring one to others. She was smart and clever in her own unique way, and she will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to meet her.”
