Yulia Portseva’s Health Deteriorates Suddenly After Cosmetic Surgery Moscow Investigators Open Criminal Case to Examine Possible Medical Negligence

Italian influencer Yulia Portseva, 38, passed away due to rare complications following a cosmetic surgery procedure in Moscow.

Portseva, known widely on social media platforms—especially Instagram, where she had tens of thousands of followers—shared details of her daily life with her husband Giuseppe and their young daughter, alongside moments of motherhood and family experiences.

Sudden Decline After Surgery

Russian news outlet MSK1 reported that Portseva underwent the procedure at a private medical center in Moscow on January 4. However, her health suddenly deteriorated after the surgery, prompting an emergency hospital transfer, where she was later pronounced dead. Authorities have yet to disclose details of the surgery type or the direct cause of death.

Russian authorities have launched an official investigation. Moscow’s investigative committee announced a criminal case to examine potential medical negligence. The investigation includes collecting the clinic’s medical and administrative records, as well as conducting multiple forensic tests to determine if there was any malpractice or breach.

According to her Instagram biography, Portseva resided in Naples with her family, and her content focused on her daily life and experiences as a mother, earning her significant popularity in Italy and abroad. Her last Instagram post was on December 5, featuring a video with her daughter. On the morning of her surgery, she also posted a clip on Russia’s VK platform from a Moscow café, captioned: “Good morning Moscow.”

News of her death shocked and saddened her followers, who expressed deep sorrow and shared messages of condolence and prayers for her family, including heartfelt and touching words.

Investigations are ongoing, amid renewed discussions on the risks of cosmetic surgeries and the importance of adhering to medical standards and professional oversight, awaiting the official test results and final reports.
