The Egyptian film Talaqni continued its success in Saudi cinemas, topping the box office for the second consecutive week, achieving remarkable figures that surpassed prominent Egyptian and international releases, according to data from the Saudi Film Commission.
Statistics revealed that the fifth week of the cinema season, running from December 28 to January 3, witnessed a significant audience turnout, with approximately 233.9 thousand tickets sold, generating a total revenue of 12.4 million Saudi Riyals.
Talaqni, starring Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz and Dina El-Sherbiny, earned 3.5 million Saudi Riyals during its second week alone, surpassing the American film Avatar: Fire and Ash, which ranked second, followed by Anaconda in third place, and The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants in fourth. The Egyptian film El-Sett, starring Mona Zaki, took fifth place.
Intense Competition Among 33 Films
Saudi cinemas hosted a strong competition among 33 Arab and international films, all vying for a spot in the top ten. The American film Zootropolis 2 ranked sixth, while Al-Selm wa Al-Tha’ban starring Amr Youssef took seventh place, followed by the Indian film Sarvam Maya in eighth, Nuremberg ninth, and Five Nights at Freddy's 2 closing the top ten.
