The head of the Musicians' Syndicate, Egyptian artist Mostafa
Kamel, announced the referral of both Helmy Abdel-Baqi, the syndicate’s First Deputy, and Ahmed Abu Al-Majd, the Secretary-General, to the Disciplinary Council, following recent administrative crises within the syndicate.
Investigation Decision and Its Reasons The syndicate clarified that the referral aims to investigate administrative violations in accordance with the regulations governing syndicate work, and to take the necessary legal measures if any potential violations are confirmed.
Helmy Abdel-Baqi Responds Helmy Abdel-Baqi denied all the accusations attributed to him, stressing that the investigation session has not been officially held, and that any claims about his refusal to respond to the accusations are "completely false." Abdel-Baqi added that no official violations have been recorded against him so far, emphasizing his commitment to his legal rights guaranteed by the constitution and the law.
He further explained that he has filed a legal appeal against the referral decision, confirming that the procedures are temporarily suspended pending a decision on the appeal according to the legally approved frameworks within the syndicate.
Work Continues Amid Tension Despite ongoing tension between the syndicate’s administration and some members, the First Deputy continues to carry out his duties normally, while the artistic community closely follows the crisis and the exchange of statements that escalate the controversy.
