Jordanian artist Suleiman Aboud passed away today while in Austria after suffering a stroke, leaving behind a wave of grief in Jordan’s artistic and cultural circles.
The sorrow quickly spread among colleagues and fans, as many artists paid tribute, recalling his high morals and artistic imprint that left a remarkable presence in the Jordanian music scene.
Aboud began his artistic journey after returning from Kuwait with a patriotic song titled "Allah Yara’a Al-Watan", before achieving a milestone at the Arab Song Festival for Radio and Television in 2000, where he won the Best Performance award for the song "Aakhir Al-Bouh", penned by the poet Haidar Mahmoud.
His works varied between albums featuring Gulf song sketches and others highlighting Jordanian and Palestinian musical heritage, alongside participation in several national operettas and international festivals, including the UAE National Day Festival and the National Song Festival.
The late artist also contributed numerous Jordanian songs and composed and wrote works for Jordanian and Arab artists, leaving behind a diverse artistic legacy that enriched the Arab music scene.
