Authorities in the Indian city of Tirupati discovered the decomposed body of a university professor inside a dusty, parked car near Alipiri, after the foul odor drew the attention of passersby.

Residents immediately reported the matter to the police for investigation, according to a local newspaper report.

Tirupati Police identified the body as that of a professor at Sri Venkateswara University, who had been suspended about three months ago due to alcohol addiction affecting his work and irregular attendance.

The body was sent for autopsy, and an official case has been registered, while the cause of death remains unknown. Based on the state of the body, it is believed that the professor had passed away several days before being discovered.

It is noted that the professor was married to a teaching assistant working in Chittoor, and the couple has two daughters, aged 15 and 12.
