LG is preparing to unveil a new household robot named "CLOid" during the CES 2026 consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, USA.
This move reflects the growing interest of tech companies in human-like robots, with LG revealing some details ahead of the full presentation scheduled for January.
The company explained that CLOid comes with two articulated arms and five fingers on each hand, which operate independently to help users perform various household tasks, though specific functions have not yet been detailed.
LG has not revealed the robot’s final appearance, except for close-up images of its hands.
The robot aligns with LG’s vision, branded as: “A Home Without Work… Quality Time,” indicating that CLOid is part of the company’s goal to “relieve users from exhausting household chores.”
CLOid’s head houses the processor, along with a screen, speaker, camera, and several sensors that allow expressive interaction.
LG relies on emotional AI technology to enable friendly and neutral interactions, with the ability to improve the robot’s responses through repeated interaction with the user.
Typically, CES showcases preliminary models that provide a glimpse into the future of technology without guaranteeing market availability. Questions remain whether CLOid is merely an attention-grabbing exhibit or a fully functional robot with real capabilities.
Visitors will be able to observe the robot interacting with real household scenarios at LG’s booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
