  • Mexican Navy plane crashes in Texas
  • It was transporting a child with burns

At least five people were killed after a Mexican Navy plane, carrying a child with burns, crashed near Galveston, Texas, amid foggy conditions.

Reports indicated that the aircraft was on a medical mission for the Michou y Mau Foundation, which provides care for Mexican children with severe burns, before it went down in Galveston Bay near Scholes International Airport.

The Mexican Navy stated that one person remains missing, while two others were rescued alive.

Video footage circulated showing the wreckage of the plane in the water, with witnesses and police officers participating in search efforts.

A local yacht captain said he transported two police officers to the crash site, then jumped into the water and found a severely injured woman trapped inside the partially submerged plane, noting her critical condition due to leaking jet fuel mixing with the water.

Authorities confirmed that search and rescue operations were carried out in coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard, with other footage showing rescue teams, including divers, working in dense fog near the crash site.

The Michou y Mau Foundation expressed deep condolences to the victims’ families, describing the incident as tragic.
