Jordanian media head Amjad Al-Majali confirmed that the morale of the Jordanian national team, Al-Nashama, is “very high” in the Qatari capital, Doha, ahead of their anticipated match against Saudi Arabia tomorrow. Al-Majali made these remarks while following the team’s training camp live.
Regarding captain Yazan Al-Naemat’s injury, Al-Majali, speaking via Zoom on the program Nabd Al-Balad, noted that both the team and delegation have moved past the “painful and sad” news concerning Al-Naemat.
He highlighted that a dinner was held yesterday at the team’s hotel, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, president of the Jordan Football Association, the full delegation, and the players’ families who are in Doha to support them.
Al-Majali pointed out that Al-Naemat also attended the dinner, affirming that he will return “stronger.” He reiterated the players’ commitment to always play for Jordan and Al-Nashama, adding that they will also play “for their teammate Yazan Al-Naemat to help achieve the title, God willing.”
On substitution rules, Al-Majali clarified that tournament regulations do not allow replacing a player like Yazan Al-Naemat after the final squad is confirmed, noting that substitutions are permitted only if a goalkeeper is injured and removed from the roster, meaning no replacement is possible for Al-Naemat.
Regarding star support, Al-Majali mentioned that Captain Mousa Al-Ta’mari sent a message of encouragement to Al-Nashama and will support them from France via video, as he played a match for his club in the French league yesterday, scoring one goal and assisting another. He confirmed that it is “unlikely” for Al-Ta’mari to be physically present on the field.
As for Yazan Al-Arab, Al-Majali said reports about his presence in the stands remain unconfirmed.
Concerning Al-Naemat’s replacement in the lineup, coach Jamal Al-Salameh emphasized that Yazan is a key player and difficult to replace, stressing that all players are “equally valuable” and the substitutes are ready. The coach hinted that the most likely options could be either Oudi Al-Fakhouri or Sharara as potential replacements for Al-Naemat.
