Actor Peter Greene, known for his villainous roles in films such as Pulp Fiction and The Mask, died at the age of 60 in his New York home on Friday, according to his manager.
Greene was found dead in his apartment in the Lower East Side area, according to his manager, Greg Edwards, without disclosing the cause of death.
The police responded to an emergency call regarding an unconscious man on Clinton Street at 3:25 p.m. on Friday, and the paramedics declared Greene dead at the scene, according to a spokesperson for the police department.
"No one played the villain better than Peter, but he had a gentle side that most people never saw, and his heart was as big as gold," Edwards said in a phone interview.
He pointed out that music had been playing in the apartment for more than 24 hours, causing concern, and added that he had spoken with Greene earlier that week.
Greene played the lead role in the 1993 film Clean, Shaven, portraying a man with schizophrenia suspected of committing a murder, sometimes harming himself.
He also appeared in other films such as The Usual Suspects and Training Day.
Greene was born in Montclair, New Jersey, on October 8, 1965, and began acting in his twenties while living in New York.
He left behind a sister and a brother, according to his manager.
