A one-year-old child and his 45-year-old grandmother died in a tragic accident in the Dwarka area, southwest of New Delhi, after falling from a building under construction onto the roof of a passing car, according to police.

The incident occurred in the Bharat Vihar neighborhood, Alley No. 3, Sector 15, near Kisan Mandi, when residents alerted authorities about a fall from a great height, according to a local newspaper report.

Local media identified the victims as Hari Bai (45) and her grandson Raj. They were taken to Akash Hospital by relatives and passersby, but both later succumbed to their injuries.

Reports stated that their fall struck a moving vehicle, leading to their immediate deaths.

The police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine how the victims were present at the construction site and why adequate safety measures were not in place.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and collecting witness statements to establish the sequence of events that led to the accident.
