On Sunday, the governorate of Basra in southern Iraq witnessed a tragic crime, where a young woman was killed by her brother following family disagreements, the details of which remain undisclosed.

The incident occurred inside the home of the victim and her husband in the Al-Muzayra’a area of Al-Qurna district, where the brother opened fire using a Kalashnikov rifle, killing his sister instantly and critically wounding her husband, who was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

According to Iraqi sources, the perpetrator fled the scene before security forces arrived, while the victim’s body was transferred to the forensic department to complete legal procedures.
