Kinda Hanna Accuses Samer Al-Masri of Removing Her from "Al-Nuwailati"Samer Al-Masri: "I don’t know her personally

The crisis escalated between Syrian actress Kinda Hanna and her colleague Samer Al-Masri after she accused him of being behind her removal from the series "Al-Nuwailati", while Al-Masri responded that he "does not know her personally," and Hanna later affirmed that "insults do not shake me."

Hanna used Instagram Stories to comment: "Insults from a person without principles do not shake me," a response considered indirect to Al-Masri’s statements. She added: "Hopefully this matter brings me good and does not break me."

Previously, Al-Masri explained that Hanna’s removal was purely a production decision, saying he "does not know Kinda Hanna personally, and there is nothing personal between us," noting that "the reason for her removal was her unsuitability for the role according to the production team and the company 'Golden Line'."

Hanna, in the podcast "Waba'dein" with Lebanese journalist Raba Al-Zayat, revealed that she had started filming her role for one day before being informed that her removal was due to Al-Masri requesting she be replaced by another actress, who works in media and lacks acting experience.

She added that her joining the project was initially "to save the situation" at the insistence of the production company, which refused to pay her compensation after her removal, claiming she was not the reason for it. This led her to file a complaint with the Syrian Artists Syndicate. Hanna praised the reception and support of Syndicate President Mazen Al-Natour, asking: "Do we want to create art or gangs?"

The series "Al-Nuwailati" is written by Othman Juha, directed by Yazan Sharbatji, and revolves around the craft of the Damascene loom and the history of silk production in the Levant.
