A 48-year-old woman fell with her two children from the tenth floor of a building in the Spanish capital, Madrid, where she died instantly, while her children sustained serious injuries.

The victim, identified by the initials MG, fell with her three-year-old twin children into a garden area. The twins had celebrated their birthday the day before.

The two children, described as being in critical condition, were taken to different hospitals; one is undergoing surgery due to his critical state, while the other is in relatively better condition as his body was more protected during the fall.

Neighbors indicated that the mother was divorced and suffered from depression, adding that she had been experiencing delusional episodes, claiming she had recently been spied on.

The National Police are leading the investigation into the incident in cooperation with the Madrid Municipal Police and the fire department, confirming that there is no indication that the incident is related to violence against women.
