A Malaysian man told his wife he was on a business trip with colleagues, only to be later discovered stranded with his mistress amid severe floods that hit southern Thailand.

The heavy rains killed more than 80 people and affected three million across 12 provinces, including Hat Yai, the largest city in the south.

A woman sharing rescue updates in Hat Yai said a Malaysian wife asked for her help to locate her husband, whom she believed was trapped in the city with colleagues, adding that their young children anxiously awaited his return.

The woman enlisted relatives in the city to search the hotel where the man was supposedly staying, only to discover that his "colleagues" were actually his mistress.

She has not informed the wife yet, who is pregnant with their fourth child, emphasizing that the story was shared not for attention but to remind wives to "be cautious and not trust their husbands blindly."
