Family feud over credit card delays wedding

- Man blames sister for ruining his wedding plans
- She froze her credit card after he used it without permission
A groom accused his sister of jeopardizing his wedding plans after she froze her credit card, which he had used without permission to pay the $1,200 venue deposit, causing the payment to be declined.
The 28-year-old sister shared on social media that she is being accused of trying to "sabotage" the wedding.
“I told them clearly: if you use my card without permission, that’s theft,” she wrote.
The groom had previously used the card in 2024 to cover a temporary payment after issues with his own card and had promised to repay her immediately.
However, in October 2025, he used her card information again to pay the venue deposit, even though he and his fiancée didn’t have the funds to cover it themselves.
When the sister saw the large charge, she initially thought it was fraud, then realized her brother’s name was on the receipt and called him to resolve the issue.
At first, she understood their financial situation and didn’t object, as her brother promised to repay her once his next paycheck arrived. But after three weeks without repayment, she froze the card and canceled the transaction, which led the venue to inform the groom that the payment had failed.
The groom is now furious, claiming his sister “ruined” the wedding and embarrassed him in front of his fiancée, while their parents are pressuring the sister to settle the matter quickly.
