Mohamed Mounir awarded the Olympic "Collar of the Greats" – Photo

The Egyptian Olympic Committee announced the appointment of the renowned artist Mohamed Mounir as the official ambassador of the Olympic movement, in recognition of his artistic and national stature, his widespread popularity in Egypt and the Arab world, as well as his positive influence in supporting sports and promoting its humanitarian and cultural messages.
During a ceremony held at the committee’s headquarters, Engineer Yasser Edris presented Mohamed Mounir with the Olympic Legends Medal in the presence of Engineer Adham Dahab, member of the Olympic Economic Committee, and journalist Yasser Abdel Aziz, head of the committee’s media system.
Mounir expressed his happiness at the appointment, saying, “I am grateful for this trust. The Olympic Committee represents a rich history and a significant role in society. I hope to contribute as an ambassador to spreading the humanitarian values of sports and promoting its noble principles to everyone.”
Honoring his artistic career Engineer Yasser Edris explained that Mounir’s selection came in recognition of his distinguished artistic career, wide popularity, and beloved personality, noting that the artist will serve as a proud representative of the committee at conferences, events, and tournaments, in addition to supporting national teams, encouraging sports among the youth, and promoting cultural diversity and peace among nations.
