Woman wins $1 million lottery because of her hunger

- Late-night craving leads a woman to lottery win
- Prize totals $1 Million
A 53-year-old woman from Kent County, Michigan, said a sudden late-night craving for food led her to win the $1 million jackpot.
She told Michigan Lottery officials that she stopped at a store on 28th Street Southwest in Wyoming during an unplanned outing.
“I woke up hungry late at night, so I went out for some food. While I was out, I bought a few lottery tickets and scratched them when I got home. It was shocking when I saw my Lady Luck 777 ticket had won $1 million. I had a hard time going back to sleep that night,” she said.
The winner said she is still processing the news and has not made any plans for the money yet, noting that the prize will be placed in a savings account for now.
Michigan Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli commented, “We always enjoy hearing stories about how winners discover their big prizes, like this one where a late-night food run turned into a $1 million win. Winning a large prize unexpectedly is one reason instant games are so popular with our players. Congratulations to the winner on her $1 million prize.”
