Offensive videos of Rahma Mohsen prompt her to file a case against Marwa Sabry

Rahma Mohsen Files New Complaint Against Marwa Sabry
Accusation: Marwa Sabry Spreading False News Damaging Her Reputation
Just hours after Egyptian media personality Marwa Sabry apologized to actress Dina El Sherbiny following legal action taken by the latter over Sabry’s comments regarding the separation of actor Karam Mahmoud Abdel Aziz from his wife Ann El Rifai, actress Rahma Mohsen filed a new complaint against Marwa Sabry and her program team, accusing them of insulting, defaming, and spreading false information that damages her reputation and that of her family.
Misleading Information
The complaint, submitted to the Public Prosecutor by lawyer Mahmoud El Sheshtawy on behalf of Rahma Mohsen, stated that the defendants deliberately published misleading information on the program without authorization, directly harming the complainant, her family, and her followers on social media.
El Sheshtawy explained that during the program, Marwa Sabry and her team insulted, defamed, and smeared Rahma Mohsen’s reputation, and the complaint included the transcript of Sabry’s statements. The aim of publishing this content, he added, was to defame the complainant and exploit her fame to increase viewership at the expense of her reputation.
Offensive Videos Spread Quickly
Rahma Mohsen’s lawyer noted that the videos, published on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms, spread rapidly across social media, containing false and inaccurate information. This prompted the complainant to file multiple complaints to the Public Prosecutor against Marwa Sabry and her team.
The lawyer added that Sabry’s dissemination of the content, which included false and inaccurate events, was intended to defame the complainant and her family, in addition to committing public insult and defamation, and spreading misleading information to influence public opinion for others’ benefit. The case is currently under investigation by the Public Prosecutor.
The complaint emphasized that the videos were intended to ignite controversy and increase viewership at the expense of Rahma Mohsen’s reputation, with millions of views leading to widespread insult, defamation, and attacks on her honor in social media comments.
The lawyer concluded the complaint by requesting the expedited investigation and referral of the defendants to criminal court, while preserving all of the complainant’s legal rights.
